Student Attendance Area: Students shall attend the school in the attendance area in which their parent or guardian lives. GWHS services the following attendance areas: Mangilao, Pagat Mangilao, Chalan Pago, Ordot, Sinajana, Agana Heights, Agana Springs. Out of district (OOD) applications may be available for administrative approval. If students are accepted as OOD, they must comply with requirements as stipulated in the OOD application, and must understand that they will be withdrawn at the end of the school year.
Lockouts will NO LONGER be in effect starting February 1, 2018. Students must report straight to class as soon as they enter the campus. Please be aware of the following:
A. Tardy: Students who are not in attendance for 49% of less from the start of their regularly scheduled class periods (Please see the time schedule indicating Tardy and Technical Absence).
B. Technical Absence: Students who are in attendance for less than 50% of their regularly scheduled class periods.
C. Log Sheet: Accountability of time for those tardy or absent. Students will be required to sign in this log sheet indicating time of arrival in class (to determine Tardy or Technical Absence).
Teachers are required to take daily attendance for the school day. Attendance should be recorded daily per period in PowerTeacher and attendance records are to be updated (unexcused absence to excused absence or absent to tardy).
Students will be referred to the Student Support Office (SSO) for the following:
A. Every 3 or more unexcused absences (3 unexcused tardies = 1 unexcused absence)
B. Skipping or suspected skipping (hanging out in the hallway or around campus)
C. Excessive tardies
D. BP330 will be implemented accordingly: Non-compulsory student(s) (16 years and above) who have accumulated a total of twenty-five (25) days of absences (excused and unexcused) may be dropped from school for the balance of the academic year.
